OKLAHOMA
FREE CAMPGROUNDS

Dear Reader: We are updating these listings now (April-May, 2004). The listings on this page now are in many cases outdated. We except to have our updated directory posted by July, 2004.

Wal-Mart stores. Unless posted, RVers may spend the night for free in any Wal-Mart parking lot. For a list of Wal-Mart stores that do not permit free overnight stays, click here.

NOTE FROM EDITOR: As you can see, our listings for Oklahoma free campgrounds are downright slim. Please let us know of any free campgrounds you find here so we can build this list. Thanks.

Disney
Little Blue State Park, which is two miles from town, offers free camping. Ask for directions in town. -- THE EDITOR

Sayre
The fairgrounds here, north of I-40, have full hookups and are nice, clean and shady. -- ROBERT HALL

Talihina
A city RV park is located at Dallas and 1st Streets. Sites are not designated, but overnight stays are free. -- THE EDITOR

Tonkawa & Lyons
Tonkawa, two miles east of I-35 just south of the Kansas line, has free parking at its city park. Each site has electricity and there is water in the park and a dump station. Stop by the police dept for a permit. They patrol the park during the night. Lyons, Kansas, also has parking in the city park with electricity. -- S. CROSS

Tulsa
In eastern Tulsa there's a truck stop next door to the KOA campground on I-44 . If you sign a book listing your trailer license number, you can even leave it there while you travel the city. The parking lot is patrolled by a private security officer. The truck stop has the normal store, showers, etc.
