Description
Brand new facilities opened in March, 2012 with travel info and free Wi-Fi, even provided electricity outlet, phone jack on the table (I don't know what the phone jack for). Excellent design with shelter, vending area, 2 rest room areas, children playground, covered picnic tables. They look like a small park more than a restroom. According to Texas DOT info, you can stay not more than 24 hours in the Rest Areas or Welcome Centers, so over night is not a problem. TX DOT designated this as Safe Rest Area, I saw maintenance staff during daytime, I believe they have some sort of security at night. I only stopped by daytime couple times.
