On the Natchez Trace, nice free campground with minimal facilities, can be busy when the snowbirds head north but everyone doubles and triples up to make space. Free wi-fi down at the gas station

Staying here now 10-16-2012. Nice place very quiet. Full last night by dark half full tonight. Water at 2-3 places in park. Restrooms only no showers. Rangers drive through a couple times a day. A federal Plus

My girlfriend and I stayed here in 01/12. This is a really peaceful and pretty place. It has pull-thru and back-in sites and is indeed first come first serve. Bathrooms on site but no hot water. No hook-ups at sites, but for free camping for up to 14 days, this is about as good as boondocking gets! There was another free park run campground on the Trace that was just as nice. I would definately stay here again!

The gas station is now closed, and I do not know if it will reopen any time soon.

Jeff Busby Campground is located at mile post 193 on the Natchez Trace Parkway. The only gas station on the parkway and a camp store are located here. The site was named for Thomas Jefferson Busby who was a Congressman from Mississippi who initiated a bill into Congress that resulted in the survey of the trace. There are 18 sites, picnic tables, exhibits, and trails. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5639/natchez_trace_parkway_scenic_route.html 33.41694N 89.26948W
